Prescriptions filled while patients wait, with access to prescription assistance programs.

Our on-site pharmacies at Paterson Street  and Sheridan located in Kalamazoo are one of our Centers’ most attractive features, particularly for those who do not have transportation.  Family Health Center is one of only a handful of  Federally Qualified Health Centers in Michigan that has its own pharmacies on-site. They offer reduced price prescriptions to patients who qualify for Sliding Fee Scale assistance.  The pharmacy also stocks select Over the Counter (OTC) medications and diabetic supplies.

Located off the main entrance, they offer quick and easy patient access for those picking up prescriptions.  Click for hours and directions to Paterson Street or Sheridan.

What insurances do you accept?

The Family Health Center pharmacy accepts all Medicaid and Medicare prescription plans, as well as most commercial insurance.  We also offer the Sliding Fee Scale for patients who use Family Health Center as their primary medical home.

What if I do not have insurance and cannot afford my medications?

If you are a patient at Family Health Center, the pharmacy on Paterson St. will process the application to the medication manufacturer to obtain a 3 month supply of medication for free.  You must meet the income guidelines mandated by the manufacturer and provide the required proof of income when you meet with our advisor to complete the paperwork.   Click to view examples of accepted documentation.

Do you carry the medications that I take?

We offer a full service pharmacy and have most medications in stock.  Special or non-stocked medications can be ordered and are available within 24 hours.  If you qualify, the pharmacy department will fill out all the paperwork when you need to apply to a drug company for non-covered medications.

Can I still use your pharmacy even if I am not a patient at Family Health Center?

Yes.  We are considered an “Open Door Pharmacy” and can fill prescriptions for any patient.
